Getting started

Is Kismet free?

Engagement party invitations, the wedding guest list, supplier payments and the budget are free. Some extra tools are Kismet Plus, and they are free during early access. We will tell you before that changes.

Do I need a password?

No. You type your email address and we send you a sign-in link. The link works once and runs out after a short while.

Do our guests need an account?

No. Each household gets its own private link. They open it, say who is coming to each event, and that is it.

Is it set up for both of us?

Yes. Both of your names go on the wedding and on every invitation, and sides and payments can be marked as either of yours or both.

Guest list and replies

How do I add guests?

On your guest list, choose Add guests. You can paste from a spreadsheet, type names in, or upload a CSV file. Each person sits in a household, because one invitation goes to each household.

Can I bring my guest list from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Save it as a CSV, or copy the cells and paste them in. Kismet guesses which column is which, and you can change any guess before anything is added. If it goes wrong, Undo this import takes it straight back out.

How do guests reply?

Through their household's private link, sent by email or WhatsApp, or printed as a QR code. They reply for each person and each event, choose meals if you are offering them, and can tell you about dietary needs.

Can a guest see who else is invited?

No. A guest only ever sees their own household. Nobody sees anyone else's replies, address or needs.

What if I lose track of a link or send it to the wrong person?

Make a new link for that household. The old one stops working at once.

Engagement party invitations

How do engagement party invitations work?

You make an invitation page with your date, time and place, then share its link. Guests reply on the page with no account. You can also add guests yourself and send each a private link.

Can I close replies?

Yes. Switch replies off, or set a reply-by date. After that the page still shows your details but takes no more replies.

Wedding money

What does the money side do?

It keeps every supplier, what you owe them and when, in one place, against your budget and what you are saving each month. You can see what is due next and who is paying.

Do you take payments or hold our money?

No. Kismet records what you owe and have paid. You pay suppliers the way you always would.

Privacy and your data

Do you sell our data or show adverts?

No. No adverts, no supplier directory and no selling your details to suppliers.

Who can see dietary and access needs?

Only the two of you. Dietary needs reach your caterer only through the print you choose to give them. Access needs never leave your own pages.

Can I get a copy of our data, or have it deleted?

Yes. Our privacy notice says how to ask, and we reply within one month. A guest can ask us, or the couple who invited them.

More detail on what we keep and why is in the privacy notice.
